The standard distance Causeway Coast Triathlon may have been taking place on Sunday but the kids weren’t going to let the adults have all the fun in Portrush. As part of a regional program, Triathlon Ireland Development Officer, Johnny Davis had worked with the Triangle Club to organise an open water aquathlon suitable for competent swimmers of all ages. The 250m swim and 2k run was greatly enjoyed by all those taking part and it was obvious from the rushed transitions that many had been receiving lessons from parents!
Many thanks to all the water safety personnel, including the RNLI, for hanging around after the adult swim to ensure that the children were excellently cared for. Further events will be announced as the summer progresses.
Results available so far are that Michael Evans took top spot with Chris Surgenor 2nd.
